Who Am I?

Hi there! I’m Tara.

My approach to design and to life is always play first. I’ve found that this mindset helps to keep curiosity at the forefront of my mind, which is integral to solving problems and designing great solutions.

Although I have worked on projects of all sorts in design school, my interests lie within UX research and design systems. I love the behind-the-scenes work that goes into UX solutions. I studied science and worked in a microbiology lab for 3 years before migrating to design (there wasn’t enough room for play in microbiology), so I suspect this is why my brain thrives in the research role!

Outside of design, my playground is primarily the Rocky Mountains. I love skiing (mostly downhill and some backcountry!), and religiously check the snow report all season long (OpenSnow has my favorite UI for all things snow). In the off season, I dabble in trail running and hiking. I adore live music, and often find inspiration at shows. I also read lots and lots of books!
